Last spring 2017 I did photography on all the Helsinki metrostations, from one end to the other, from Ruoholahti to Vuosaari, and made them into collages.

It was not an easy job, since most of the people passing by looked at me as if I was taking selfies only.

You know, Helsinki has alltogether 17 metrostations by the end of summer 2017, but here covered are all the 14 stations from Ruoholahti to Vuosaari only, because for a tourist those missing 3 metrostations, Myllypuro, Kontula and Mellunmäki, don’t have much relevance.  But in case you wish to visit those places, you can change the metro in Itäkeskus and it will take you there.

Another reason is, that sooner or later, this same metroline I’m talking about, metro from Vuosaari to Ruoholahti, will take you all the way from Vuosaari to neighbouring Espoo city as well. So this article is also a salute to all the people in Espoo getting to know Helsinki, in addition to all the other tourists coming to Helsinki, Finland from all over the world. So here they are, with the photocollages and relevant links to Finnish introductions, to traveltips in English and to Insta images –

  2. Yes, there really is so much to see in the East of Helsinki. Especially for the nature loving people.
One can find some traveltips and hints where to go and what to see for all these above mentioned Helsinki city neighbourhoods from the links provided in this article.
I think it might be Herttoniemi metrostation from where you can take a bus to see that beautiful park in Roihuvuori during springtime, which was mentioned in your article.
