Fashion show in Goa, India

This is a photoupdate for my posting from 2006,
since photos from that time do not work well with all the latest features in blogs in 2012.

In these photos you can see works of an Indian fashion designer Sanjana Jon, Miss Universum from 2006, Fashion TV and the AIDS Awareness Tour.

Indian woman’s diverse clothing and fashion on the streets and roads of India in the years 2007-2012.

As the pictures showthe scale is from one side to anotherand these photographs definitely don’t have it all, they are just giving you some kind of idea, since for example, in every Indian state every woman has the state’s own unique way to tie her sari.

Somewhere in India sari is in turn replaced with a long skirt and blouse and in Goa Catholic women wear mostly dresses. Whereas in Karnataka some women wear clothing that reveals the back and shoulderswhich elsewhere in India is covered with a dupatta
And although in big cities salvar kameez is sometimes changed with jeans or shorts and a t-shirt, people are still not much aware of this in the remote villages of India, where many still hide themselves behind the scarf in order to show respect for an older man, or as a learned habit it has been just for self-defence during many generations.

If you are interested in this topicsee also other postings under the muoti / fashion heading.

And if you feel you can’t find anything to wear from the shops,
the key for your problem may well be found from India, as I myself have noticed.

Re-Designing Helsinki: Siltavuorenranta / Brobergskajen / "Shore of the Bridgemountain"

This digital painting is inspired by a spring view in Helsinki Siltavuorenranta. Colours come from the sky, buildings of Hotel Hilton and Merihaka and one female jogger.
Siltavuorenranta means Shore of the bridgemountain in English.

Helsinki is the capital of Finland and the design capital of the world, 2012.
