Finally, the moment you’ve all been waiting for! 8 years in the making, I present to you my epic journey from the West coast of India to the East coast, from the sun-kissed beaches of Goa to the bustling city of Chennai. Join me as I embark on the Chennai Express train, setting off from the Madgaon station in Goa, surrounded by the chaos of people, chai wallas and the anticipation of adventure. As the train pulls away, people wave goodbye to the platform, just like in a Bollywood movie.
Get ready to be mesmerized as I journey through lush green forests and towering hills, with a glimpse of the magnificent Dudhsagar waterfall. One night on this train and it will arrive at my destination, but not without some bumps along the way.
I take my seat-turned-bed by the window and settle in for the night, with a bluish curtain for privacy and my trusty backpack by my side, as I’ve learned to be vigilant against pickpockets on trains. A cozy white sheet awaits me for a restful sleep.
As we roll into Chennai Central station the next day, I am reminded of the unpredictable nature of traveling by train in India. Although it was a rough ride, it was worth it for the memories and experiences gained.
