One of the most delicious events of the Finnish summer returns to central Helsinki as Burger Lovers Festival takes over Railway Square (Rautatientori) from 10–13 June 2026.

For four days, locals, tourists, and burger enthusiasts can enjoy some of Finland’s most popular burgers in one convenient location right next to Helsinki Central Railway Station. Admission to the festival is completely free.

A Taste of Finland’s Burger Scene

Organized by the Burger Lovers community, the festival has become a well-established part of Helsinki’s early summer event calendar. This year, 12 burger vendors from across Finland will gather at Rautatientori to showcase their specialties.

Visitors can expect a diverse selection of gourmet burgers, street food favorites, creative flavor combinations, and high-quality ingredients. Both established burger restaurants and popular food trucks will be represented.

The official festival menus will be published approximately one week before the event, allowing burger fans to plan their tasting route in advance.

More Than Just Burgers

While burgers are naturally the main attraction, visitors with a sweet tooth will also find something special.

Makea Unelma (“Sweet Dream”) will arrive with its donut truck, serving artisan donuts throughout the festival. During my visit in 2025, I also tried their coffee, which truly lived up to the company’s name — it was exceptionally good.

Please note that the entire festival area operates as a licensed alcohol-serving area. Visitors under 18 years of age are welcome only when accompanied by an adult.

For safety and event management reasons, bringing your own food, drinks, pets, bicycles, or electric scooters into the festival area is not permitted.

Experiencing a Finnish Summer

Anyone who has spent time in Finland knows that summer weather can change quickly.

My video from Burger Lovers Festival 2025 captures this perfectly. In the beginning of the event there was rain and then suddenly clear skies returned. The Finnish saying “after rain comes sunshine” often proves true in the Finnish summer.

Fortunately, the festival area includes plenty of covered seating areas where visitors can continue enjoying their meals even if a rain shower passes through. In fact, a little rain can sometimes be an advantage — queues often become much shorter, as you can see in my video.

Options for Everyone

One of the strengths of Burger Lovers Festival is its variety.

You can find classic cheeseburgers, spicy flavors, premium beef, or innovative burger creations, and even vegetarian burgers were available from almost every vendor during the 2025 festival. Gluten-free options were also surprisingly easy to find.

Unfortunately, my favorite gluten-free vegetarian burger vendors from last year will not be attending this year’s festival. However, discovering new favorites is part of the experience, and there will undoubtedly be plenty of exciting surprises waiting for visitors.

Have it yummy at Rautatientori

For visitors traveling to Helsinki in June, Burger Lovers Festival offers an excellent opportunity to experience Finland’s contemporary food culture in a relaxed outdoor setting.

Located just steps from Helsinki Central Railway Station, the festival is easy to combine with sightseeing, shopping, or a day exploring the Finnish capital. If you enjoy good food, local atmosphere, and summer events, Burger Lovers Festival 2026 is well worth adding to your Helsinki itinerary.
